Why the Long Bill?

See the results of our survey, as featured in The Times, 23rd March 2013.

Our survey across a random sample of members of the public revealed that more than half believe that solicitors overcharge and a staggering 42% of those who work in the legal industry agree that solicitors overcharge.

The survey also revealed that more that 95% of those who had used solicitors paid up to £5,000 in the past five years. That is three times the average monthly wage. Some paid £25,000 or more in fees the same period.

The supply of legal services, which is still dominated by the ‘High Street’ solicitor model, was found by more than one in five to be a model in which they were intimidated by the legal process and felt uncomfortable asking about charges.
